Iron Catalyzed Double Bond Isomerization: Evidence for an Fe I /Fe III Catalytic Cycle

نویسندگان

چکیده

Iron-catalyzed isomerization of alkenes is reported using an iron(II) ?-diketiminate pre-catalyst. The reaction proceeds with a catalytic amount hydride source, such as pinacol borane (HBpin) or ammonia (H3N?BH3). Reactivity both allyl arenes and aliphatic has been studied. mechanism was investigated by variety means, including deuteration studies, Density Functional Theory (DFT) Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. data obtained support pre-catalyst activation step that gives access to ?2-coordinated alkene FeI complex, followed oxidative addition the give FeIII intermediate, which then undergoes reductive elimination allow release product.

Fe-Catalyzed C–C Bond Construction from Olefins via Radicals

This Article details the development of the iron-catalyzed conversion of olefins to radicals and their subsequent use in the construction of C-C bonds. Optimization of a reductive diene cyclization led to the development of an intermolecular cross-coupling of electronically-differentiated donor and acceptor olefins. Although the substitution on the donor olefins was initially limited to alkyl a...

The catalytic center of ferritin regulates iron storage via Fe(II)-Fe(III) displacement.

A conserved iron-binding site, the ferroxidase center, regulates the vital iron storage role of the ubiquitous protein ferritin in iron metabolism. It is commonly thought that two Fe(II) simultaneously bind the ferroxidase center and that the oxidized Fe(III)-O(H)-Fe(III) product spontaneously enters the cavity of ferritin as a unit. In contrast, in some bacterioferritins and in archaeal ferrit...

Effects of carbon during Fe(II)-catalyzed Fe oxide recrystallization: implications for Fe and carbon cycling

The reaction between aqueous Fe(II) and Fe(III) oxides is extremely complex, and can catalyze Fe(II)-Fe(III) electron transfer, exchange of Fe atoms between the aqueous and solid phases, mineral transformation, and contaminant reduction. Together, these processes represent a phenomenon referred to as Fe(II)-catalyzed Fe oxide recrystallization, which has been observed under controlled condition...

Synthesis and catalytic properties of MIL-100(Fe), an iron(III) carboxylate with large pores.

The large-pore iron(III) carboxylate MIL-100(Fe) with a zeotype architecture has been isolated under hydrothermal conditions, its structure solved from synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction data, while Friedel-Crafts benzylation catalytic tests indicate a high activity and selectivity for MIL-100(Fe).

A catalytic di-heme bis-Fe(IV) intermediate, alternative to an Fe(IV)=O porphyrin radical.

High-valent iron species are powerful oxidizing agents in chemical and biological catalysis. The best characterized form of an Fe(V) equivalent described in biological systems is the combination of a b-type heme with Fe(IV)=O and a porphyrin or amino acid cation radical (termed Compound I). This work describes an alternative natural mechanism to store two oxidizing equivalents above the ferric ...
